From the
19th to the 24th of March 2012 we had the second mobility in our Project. This
time a group of six students and two teachers from our school spent five days
in Rieti, Italy. There, teachers and students
from all the countries involved in the project shared experiences, carried our
common activities, went sightseeing, practised English and planned future
events.

Córdoba’s most important landmark: the Great Mosque
The next task in our Project schedule was to create a Power Point Presentation on a significant landmark from each partner to be distributed amongst the group.
Most of the students involved in the Comenius Project in our school have worked hard at it and have made some interesting presentations. We have selected one of these to send to our partners.

Our First Mobility: Canterbury, England
From the 13th to the 19th of November a group of six students and two teachers went on a trip to Canterbury. There we met our partners from the other six countries that are involved in this Comenius Project. It was a really enriching experience for both teachers and students.
Here is a Power-Point Presentation made by the students who went on the trip. It is a good summary of the activites we carried out in England.

Our students at Medina Azahara school worked hard and many of them took part in the Logo Competition. They luckily had the help and advice of their Art teacher.
These are some of the logos our students created.

Our Project and Partners

Our project
will compare and contrast the influence of religious and historical buildings
on local culture. In doing so we shall link subjects as: citizenship, history,
religion, geography, literature, art and foreign languages. We want to
strengthen international ties for the partnership schools giving pupils the
opportunity to experience European cultures, whilst also developing their
skills in personal learning and thinking.
Seven schools from seven different European countries take part in this interesting project:
a) The Abbey School,
from Canterbury in England
b) Zespol Szkol Ogolnoksztalcacych Nr 1 Spolecznego Towarzystwa Oswiatowego, from Warsaw in Poland
c) Istituto Professionale R.A. Costaggini from Rieti in
Italy
d) Galilei-Gymnasium from Hamm, in Germany
d) Galilei-Gymnasium from Hamm, in Germany
g) IES Medina Azahara from Córdoba in Spain, our school!!!
Students
will have a chance to get to know their peers in other countries and keep in
touch with them through ICT and planned exchange trips. They will be looking
for differences and similarities between partner countries, becoming more
open-minded and tolerant. This way we are going to discover the European
dimension of education.
