Our Project and Partners

Our school, IES Medina Azahara, is involved in a COMENIUS Multilateral school partnership. Our project title is European Multicultural Landscapes.

Our project will compare and contrast the influence of religious and historical buildings on local culture. In doing so we shall link subjects as: citizenship, history, religion, geography, literature, art and foreign languages. We want to strengthen international ties for the partnership schools giving pupils the opportunity to experience European cultures, whilst also developing their skills in personal learning and thinking. 

Seven schools from seven different European countries take part in this interesting project:

a) The Abbey School, from Canterbury in England

b) Zespol Szkol Ogolnoksztalcacych Nr 1 Spolecznego Towarzystwa Oswiatowego, from Warsaw in Poland

c) Istituto Professionale R.A. Costaggini from Rieti in Italy
d) Galilei-Gymnasium from Hamm, in Germany

e) Olympion Gymnasium– Lyceum from  Palliometocho in Cyprus

f) ΤΡΙΤΟ  (3o) Gymnasio Kerkyras from  Corfu in  Greece

g) IES Medina Azahara from Córdoba in Spain, our school!!!

Students will have a chance to get to know their peers in other countries and keep in touch with them through ICT and planned exchange trips. They will be looking for differences and similarities between partner countries, becoming more open-minded and tolerant. This way we are going to discover the European dimension of education.
